Fundraising Resources

Welcome,

You have entered the wonderful world of fundraising opportunities.  Thank you for your interest.  Fundraising events are just one way that you can help Dining for Women raise funds for operations and spread the word about your local chapters.  By supporting operations, Dining for Women can continue to empower women living in extreme poverty by funding programs fostering good health, education, and economic self-sufficiency.

We are always looking for success stories to give ideas to other chapters.  Please notify your regional manager with YOUR story so we can all share in your success.

If you have any questions please notify the National Fundraising Chair at fundraising@DiningForWomen.org

Enjoy,

Fundraising Committee

Barnes and Noble Fundraiser

Our local Barnes & Noble has a program for holiday gift wrapping. Organizations sign up to work the table during the holidays and B & N offers free gift wrapping to their customers.

My co-leader and I signed up for 2 days in December. B & N supplied the table, the wrapping paper, scissors & tape and we supplied the manpower. We hung our DFW banner on the table and we had information available about DFW for  people to take who came to have their books wrapped. Our donation jar was on the table and just about every customer put in a few dollars. We asked our Chapter members to sign up for 3 hour sessions, usually 2 women to a session to work at the table over the 2 days. We were able to raise $287 for DFW!

But even more than raising the money we were able to spread the word about Dining for Women! Also, it was a great team building activity for our chapter members. Some of our members did not know each other that well, but after sitting and working together for a few hours, they got to know each other better. We felt this made our Chapter stronger and more committed to DFW.

So, if you are interested in this fundraiser, contact your local Barnes & Noble to see if they offer this program at the holiday season. But don’t wait! We suggest contacting them in September to get on the list and pick the days that work for you and your Chapter.

Good Luck!
