BeadforLife Party a Smashing Success

Amy Schiek, chapter leader in Skaneateles, NY, reports the chapter's BeadforLife party on Wednesday, August 18th, drew a record crowd, generous media coverage, and raised over $5,000. Here, she shares how the chapter spread the word:

"The women in our Dining for Women chapter really talked it up, we all sent emails to other women; I put up posters in our community and sent a press release to our two weekly newspapers, which they printed. We knew it was going to be a large party, so we held it in a local barn -- a "party barn" of sorts, with a movie screen, theatre seats, a bar, tables & chairs.  We invited women to bring their daughters too and we set up a bracelet-making station where they could make their own bracelet using BeadforLife loose beads & other beads we purchased.
 
The result: We had over 90 women and girls attend our BeadforLife party!  And while I am still coming up with a total due to ongoing jewelry sales from my house, as of now we have sold over $4,600 in jewelry and have almost $600 in donations!  Many attendees have already asked me if we'll do it again in 2011.

There were also some photos in the newspapers this week as they both sent reporters to cover it.   

I'm working on a sell-out!  If not, it will be a very small box of product that I send back."
