We are Karen Frederick and Jennifer Moyen-Logan, co-Chapter Leaders in San Jose, California. We discovered Dining For Women in an online search for
giving circles in 2007 and decided to start a chapter together, continuing our friendship and passion for volunteer work! Our chapter kicked off in November 2008 and was enthusiastically embraced by our friends and their friends.
Both of us are married and have two children each (in college and beyond), and have backgrounds working in corporate America. We have extensive experience volunteering with Girl Scouts, Project Cornerstone and at our children's schools. Karen also volunteers at Second Harvest Food Bank on a regular basis.
Our chapter meets monthly, with attendance at about 25-30 people and we encourage the involvement of our members in hosting and presenting programs as well as volunteering on a national level. We are so excited about Dining For Women that we have become actively involved at a national level ourselves in the Program Selection Committee, the Advisory Council, and National Leadership Plan design and implementation, among other initiatives.
We've hosted two area events to publicize Dining for Women and start more chapters-we are thrilled with the growth of DFW in our area!
